Just over ten days ago, Android Auto 8.1 was launched in a new beta, and now the final version 8.1.6264 has been officially released. Again, Google missed writing a new changelog or announcing innovations. We have to go back and look for what is new or different.
I took a look right after the new version was released and found no noticeable changes. Which again probably means there might be some bug fixes in the first place. There have been several reasons over the past few months.
There were general issues that plagued many users. Android Auto suddenly no longer wanted to connect to many users. There were also issues with Samsung’s Galaxy Z series.
Bugfixes have been released for this for a long time, but the latest version probably never hurts.
Unfortunately, what is still missing are new leads for Coolwalk. The complete UI overhaul was supposed to happen this summer, but week after week and month after month, nothing happened. Perhaps summer vacation has been confused with winter vacation?
Android Auto: the new version can be downloaded in two ways
You can get the latest version of Android Auto directly from the Google Play Store (also applies to beta) or much faster through the so-called Apkmirror.
