Gmail has a built-in method for bulk deleting emails, which is easily done using one of the best Chromebooks.

How to Bulk Delete Emails from Your Gmail Inbox
If you know you don’t need any of your emails, delete them all and start over. Do this:
- Open Gmail.
- Click on Mailbox to the left.
- Check the check box near the top of the page.
- A message tells you that you have only selected messages on this page. Click on the text that says Select all conversations in Main.
- Click the trash can icon Wipe off button.

How to Delete Certain Email Categories in Gmail
Sometimes you only want to delete certain categories of emails. To do this:
- Move towards gmail.
- Select the category you want to delete. For example, one of the predefined Gmail categories, such as Specials Where Socialor a label you created.

- Gmail informs you that you have selected emails on the page. Click on the hyperlink to Select all conversations in the category you are in.
- Press the Wipe off button.

You may need to delete all emails from a certain person on or before a certain date. Gmail makes this easy with its robust search feature.
Delete an email from a sender
Let’s start by seeing how to delete emails from a single sender.
- To connect to Gmail.
- In the search bar at the top, enter sender address.
- Select the check box at the top.
- Select the text that says Select all conversations that match this search.
- Click it Wipe off button.
Delete email before specified data
You have now deleted all emails from the selected sender. Now let’s see how to delete all emails before a certain date.
- In Gmail, tap the search field and type before: YYYY/MM/DD. If the month or day is a single digit, you don’t need to add zeros (for example, 2019/2/2 instead of 2019/02/02).
- Select the check box at the top so that it is checked.
- Click it Select all conversations that match this search text.
- Click it Wipe off button.
All emails you have before the selected date are now in the trash.
Delete read or unread emails
You may also find it useful to delete all read or unread emails if you know they are all junk.
- On the main Gmail screen, go to the search box and type tag: read Where label: unread.
- When the results appear, check the box at the top of the page.
- Faucet Select all conversations that match this search.
- Click on the Wipe off button

How to Delete Emails in Gmail Forever
Emails in Gmail that are in the trash are automatically deleted after 30 days. However, if you want to get rid of your emails sooner, you can permanently delete them.
- Click on Trash can on the left side (press After and scroll down if you don’t see it).
- Check the check box near the top of the page.
- A message tells you that you have only selected messages on this page. Click on the text that says Select all conversations in trash.
- Click it Delete forever button.
Those emails are now gone forever. If you want to recover an email from trash instead of permanently deleting it, Gmail lets you do that.
How to recover emails in Gmail
When you clean up your inbox, you can delete emails that you didn’t intend to delete. Gmail includes a way to recover all accidentally deleted emails.
- On the left (you may need to press After and scroll down), select Trash can.
- Check the boxes next to the emails you want to restore.
- press the Move button (shaped like a folder with an arrow on it).
- Select the name of the folder where you want to move the selected emails.
Your emails are now moved to the folder you selected and out of the trash. If you have deleted an email forever, you cannot recover it because it is gone forever.
