How to Connect AirPods to Apple TV

QUICK RESPONSE

If the Apple TV and AirPods are both under the same Apple ID, they should sync automatically. Try hold the Play/Pause button on your Apple TV remote when on the Home screen if it doesn’t happen right away.

For AirPods that are not under the same Apple ID as an Apple TV, open the Settings menu on your AppleTV, go to Remotes and devices > Other devices > Bluetooth, then open the lid of your AirPods charging case or take them out and put them in your years, then press the pairing button until the light flashes white. Apple TV and AirPods should then sync together.

If your AirPods and Apple TV are registered under the same Apple ID, they should connect automatically. Just having the two close to each other should be enough to sync them. If not, the following steps may help:

  1. Wear your AirPods or open the charging case with them inside.
  2. Go to your Apple TV home screen.
  3. hold it Play/pause button on your Apple TV remote.
  4. Choose your AirPods when they appear on the screen.

If automatic Apple ID syncing isn’t working, or if you want to use your AirPods on another Apple TV, you can still connect them:

  1. Make sure your AirPods aren’t connected to anything else, they’re in the charging case.
  2. Open the Settings menu on your Apple TV by clicking the silver gear icon.
  3. Go to Remotes and Devices > Other Devices > Bluetooth.
  4. Open the lid of your AirPods charging case or take them out and put them in your years, then press the pairing button on the case until the LED flashes white.
  5. Your AirPods and Apple TV should sync.

After doing this once, you just have to do step four again and the AirPods should connect again.
