How to Create a Spotify Blend Playlist on iPhone and Android

Along with offering a high-quality music streaming service, Spotify also offers a host of features that allow you to interact with your friends through music, and these features have helped Spotify stay strong in the competition. One of these features is called Spotify Blend, and we’ll tell you everything you need to know about it and how to create a Spotify Blend playlist with your friends.

Since Spotify didn’t advertise this feature much, we don’t blame you if you weren’t aware of it. Let’s start by understanding what this feature is all about, then let’s move on to how you can use it with your friends and family.

What is Spotify Blend

We all have close friends and family members with whom we regularly share music. And whenever we discover a great song, we make sure the link is in their inbox before the song even gets to the chorus.

So wouldn’t it be great to create a playlist with such friends, combining their favorite songs with yours, keeping it all in one place? What’s more, it’s a great idea for playing music on a car trip, and everyone can listen to the songs they like. Well, that’s exactly what the company calls Spotify Blend.

In simpler terms, a Spotify Blend playlist is a collaborative playlist that you can create with your friends.

How to Create a Spotify Blend Playlist with Your Family and Friends

Now that we know what a Spotify Blend playlist means, let’s understand how to create one with your friends or family members. There are two ways to do this and we have explained them in the following sections.

Method 1: Create Blend Playlist on Spotify Using Search

Step 1: In the Spotify app, tap the Search tab and open the search bar.

2nd step: Search for “Blend” and tap on the first result called the Blend genre.

Step 3: In the “Made For Us” section, tap on the “Create Mix” option.

Step 4: Tap Invite to create a mixed playlist with your friends.

Step 5: You will get a bunch of options to share the Spotify Blend link. Select an option to share the link.

Step 6: Once your friend accepts the link, you will see a shuffle of the two of you in the Shuffle section. And as mentioned earlier, you can access this section by simply searching for the Blend option.

Method 2: Another Way to Create Spotify Mix

If the search option is not working for some reason, here is an alternate method you can use.

Step 1: Open the Search tab on the Spotify app.

2nd step: Tap the “Made For You” card.

Step 3: You will find the option “Create a mixture”. Tap on it and the rest of the steps remain similar to the previous section.

And that’s all you need to know to create a Spotify Blend playlist with your family and friends. Then let’s see how to make one with artists.

How to Create a Spotify Artist Mix

Spotify recently introduced a feature to sync your music tastes with an artist and create a Blend playlist with them. However, you cannot do this with all artists as only a few are available for the same. Here’s how you can make one.

Step 1: Open the Search tab and search for Blend.

2nd step: You will find a bunch of artists offering Spotify Blend playlist. Tap one of them.

You can also access the links below for all artists who currently have a Blend playlist.

Step 3: Once you open the link or tap on the search result, you can see the generated playlist. If you like it and want to add it to your library, tap the heart icon below the playlist.

Point: Tap the circle with two dots in the top banner to see a preview of the mix.

And that’s how you create a Spotify Blend with your favorite artists. We hope Spotify will add more artists to the list soon.
