Have you ever had a good time with your friends and when you check your phone, you have a lot of missed calls that you never listened to even though you have your cell phone next to you? If the answer is yes, stay calm, this might have a solution.
To find the solution, we must first understand why this is happening. Here are some possible reasons:
- Your phone is paired with Bluetooth.
- Your mobile is on Do not disturb Where Airplane mode.
- Your ringtone volume is lowered.
- There is a problem with a third-party ringtone.
- You have activated call forwarding.
- Your mobile is infected with malware.
- Your speaker port is clogged
- Your phone is physically damaged.
Check your phone for 3D: dust, dirt and damage.
First, look at your device and check for any damage, such as cracks or dents (which could be a sign that you may need to replace it). But take it easy, we’ll wait until we try other quick fixes. Start scanning the speaker port as there might be some dust or dirt on it, which you can easily remove by cleaning it with a cotton swab dipped in a drop of rubbing alcohol.
Restart your mobile
An easy way to fix this problem is to try restarting your phone.
Android mobiles:
- Press and hold the “Power” until you see the Options menu.
- Faucet “To restart”.
Samsung devices:
- Press and hold the “Power” until the power off prompt appears.
- Faucet “To restartthen touch “To restart” again to confirm.
Check your volume settings
Even when you’ve already tried a simple reboot and it doesn’t work. But you can still hear other media like music, social media or videos. It could be a problem with your ringtone volume. So check your volume settings.
Other Android:
- Open “Settings”.
- Faucet “sound and vibration”.
- Drag the “Ringtone and notification volume” to the right to increase it.
Samsung:
- Open “Settings”.
- Faucet “sound and vibration”.
- Faucet “Volume”.
- Drag the “Ring bar” to the right to increase the volume.
Disable silent mode or do not disturb
Silent or Do Not Disturb mode allows you to temporarily disable your ringtone and text pings. So remember that once you have enabled this feature, you will need to disable it to hear your device ring again.
Other Android:
- Open “Settings”.
- Faucet “Notice” > “Do not disturb”.
- Check that the function is disabled. If not, press the “Deactivate now” button.
- Check again, go to schedule settings and other settings to make sure it won’t turn on later.
Samsung:
- Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Control Panel.
- Press the “Do not disturb” to turn it off (it should be gray when off and blue when on).
Make sure airplane mode is off
If you put your mobile in Airplane mode during a flight or to quickly charge it, and you forgot to switch it off when you landed or the battery is at 100%, your phone will not ring.
Other android:
- With the device unlocked, swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal your quick settings menu.
- Check Airplane mode to see if it is disabled. If it is on, press the setting to turn it off.
Samsung:
- With the device unlocked, swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal your quick settings menu.
- If so, press “Airplane mode” to turn it off (it should be greyed out when turned off).
Check Bluetooth
If you have paired your device with headphones or earphones and you are not using them, it is a fact that you will not hear your phone ringing. So to disable Bluetooth pairing.
Other Android:
Pull down from the top of your screen to open the Quick settings, and press Bluetooth to turn it off.
Samsung:
- Open “Settings” > “Connections” > “Bluetooth”.
- Tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner, then tap “Advanced” > “Block link requests”
