LG confirms Android 13 update for LG Velvet will be released in Q1 2023

LG confirms Android 13 update: Nobody can deny that LG has been a pioneer in the smartphone industry. Some of their products, such as the LG Velvet and the LG Wings, were among the first to bring revolutionary improvements to their ambitions.

However, the company had to exit the smartphone market as it was losing money in this business. This news came as a complete surprise, as no one had anticipated the sudden departure of one of the oldest tech companies in the market.

Many consumers who had purchased LG products in the days leading up to the title worried whether the company would continue to provide software updates and other after-sales services.

Well, LG responded by saying that all smartphones will receive proper after-sales services and OTA upgrades until they are labeled EOL (End-of-life) for updates. As promised, LG Velvet will receive the Android 13 upgrade in the first quarter of 2023.

Many people are still actively using LG smartphones, such as the LG Velvet. A new thread on LG’s support forums claims that the LG Velvet will receive Android 13 in the first quarter of 2023.

Although the LG Wing’s Android 13 upgrade is not mentioned, the software update plan indicates that LG will release Android security updates for the LG Wing, LG Q61, LG Q92 5G, and LG Q52 5G in the next quarter.

If you’re not located in South Korea, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on the latest updates, as that particular software release schedule only applies there.

According to LG’s planned release schedule for this year, we can expect the Android 13 upgrade for the LG Velvet to be available in other markets during the second quarter. Since the LG Wing only recently received the Android 12 update, users may be waiting for the Android 13 update for a long time.

At least Android version 13 is now accessible to LG Wings users. There were probably some unhappy customers, but what better than getting updates from a smartphone maker that’s been shut down? Well, I guess a little late is better than never. There is no confirmation that the LG Wings smartphone will be updated to Android 13.
