The Sabbath Truth app is a mobile application designed to be a “source of information, not only for those who already know and keep God’s holy Sabbath; but also an immense blessing for those who seek answers on the question of the Sabbath. It contains a chat function for those who have questions on the subject, a page with recent press articles concerning the Sabbath, an FAQ page, a section on the Sabbath as a blessing for families and conversations on the historical change of the Saturday to Sunday.
The app is the brainchild of Pastor Aubrey Duncan, lay pastor at Forsyth New Life Mission of Seventh-day Adventists. Forsyth New Life Mission is an outreach ministry of the Wimbish Road Seventh-day Adventist Church in Macon, Georgia, located within the Georgia-Cumberland Conference.
In an interview with Advent Messenger, Duncan shared his religious journey, coming from a non-religious background and overcoming a twelve-year drug addiction. “The Lord gave me a deep passion to uplift Jesus and share his end-time message,” Duncan says. “As Seventh-day Adventists, we know that a great crisis of apocalyptic proportions will take place just before the glorious return of Jesus Christ to redeem those who gave their lives to him. This crisis, as we can now discern its outlines, will be the Sabbath/Sunday issue.
Duncan’s goal was to create a mobile, highly interactive, and easily accessible evangelism tool to solve this particular problem. “In this rapidly escalating conflict, all will have to choose one day or another,” says Duncan. “Ultimately, this decision will go beyond the day you choose as your Sabbath. Rather, the day you choose demonstrates to the universe watching you who has control and authority over your life: the God of creation or the traditions of men.
