Android 13 launched earlier at the Google I/O 2022 event and brings a refinement to last year’s Android 12. Get an overview here.
Samsung’s Android 13
It has now been learned, courtesy of SamMobile, that the Korean tech giant will soon be rolling out the One UI 5.0 custom skin based on Android 13 to a number of devices this year. Samsung is likely to ship its latest flagships with the latest software first and therefore Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Fold4, and Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Flip4 are likely to get the update earlier than the others.
Surprisingly, Samsung is ready to extend this new update to many more devices, including popular mid-range devices. Reports suggest that non-flagship Galaxy A5X series users can expect to receive the One UI 5.0 update before 2023. The Galaxy A53, with the promised four-year software update, holds the highest priority in Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A5X offerings. It also happens to be the only device in the A5X series that can expect the Android 13 update.
However, it is likely that Samsung will add more devices to the waiting list for the new One UI 5.0 based on Android 13.
