New updates are added at the bottom of this story…….
The original story (published October 4, 2022) follows:
Android’s Smart Lock feature has been a boon to many users since its introduction. This helps them keep their devices secure in a very convenient way.
Smart Lock’s “Trusted Places” feature is particularly beneficial because it allows users to set a specific physical location at which their device will automatically remain unlocked.
However, this feature is said to have disappeared after the recent update.
‘Trusted Places’ missing from Smart Lock on Android devices
Many Android (1,2,3,4,5,6) users reported an issue where “Trusted Places” privacy option is missing in Smart Lock setting.

Looks like Google removed the “Trusted Places” option under the Smart Lock feature? Only On Body Detection and Trusted Devices are here now.

Anyone else having trouble with the ‘Trusted Places’ option no longer showing up under ‘Smart Lock’? I also noticed that my “Trusted Devices” were deleted.

Hello guys, I was wondering if any of you have come across the disappearance of trusted places in the smart lock, it seems to me that the option has disappeared from the smart lock, I only have the detection body and trusted devices enabled.

It seems that the problem was initially limited to Google Pixel devices, but slowly spread to non-Pixel devices.
According to reports, the problem started appearing after an update from Google Play Services around mid-September.
The Smart Lock setting now only shows “Trusted Devices” and “On Body Detection” features for some. We’ve added a screenshot shared by an affected user below:

However, according to 9to5Google’s report, the recent v22.39.12 update for Google Play Services fixes the issue.
Potential Workaround
Although the latest update brings back the feature, many Pixel and non-Pixel users still haven’t received it and are still facing the issue.
Luckily, we found a workaround that you can try for a temporary fix. This involves removing the recent Google Play Services update as suggested by a product expert.

We hope the developers fix the issue of “Trusted Places” option missing in Smart Lock as soon as possible.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for further developments and updating the article as something noteworthy arises.
