Meanwhile, UPSC claims that the app can be used to view the various information related to the UPSC website which has been mandated to conduct recruitment through the conduct of competitive examinations as well as selection through interviews, advising on the suitability of agents for appointment, promotion and transfer to deputies, etc.

However, users who have downloaded the app on their smartphones claim that this app is a mini version on the UPSC website. “I just made the website an app. There is a lot to do. Anyway, a gradual step towards digital governance. I hope it will be updated in time, not like the IOB online banking app that hasn’t been useful for so many years,” one user wrote on the Google Play Store comments section.

Another wrote: “Basically it’s the ‘Add to Home Screen’ feature of the website. It’s simple, providing almost all the functionality of the website.”

So far, the app has received a 4.7 rating on the Google Play Store.

Here’s how to download the UPSC app:

1) Open the Google Play store.

3) Click Install.

4) Open the app after installation.

5) It is ready to use.
